Formal Consultative Services, Nationwide

For patients in states where we are not yet licensed, we provide formal physician consultation — the same model used when a specialist is consulted by a local practice, a hospital, or a primary care physician anywhere in the country.

After a comprehensive telehealth consultation, we prepare detailed written consultation letters addressed to both the patient and their primary care physician (PCP). These letters outline our clinical findings, recommended laboratory tests, imaging studies, and — where appropriate — specific medication recommendations that the patient's local clinician can act upon.

Your local physician retains prescriptive authority and ordering responsibility in their state, but they receive the full benefit of board-certified endocrinology expertise guiding every decision. This is standard, well-established medical practice — and it ensures that no patient is excluded from specialized endocrinology care simply because of where they live.

You do not need a referral to request a consultation. Patients may reach out directly. We will coordinate with your local clinician on your behalf and ensure they have everything needed to implement our recommendations.

What a Formal Consultation Includes

Comprehensive telehealth consultation with a board-certified endocrinologist
Formal consultation letter sent to you and your PCP
Specific laboratory test recommendations for your clinician to order
Imaging recommendations (ultrasound, DEXA, MRI, etc.) as clinically indicated
Medication recommendations your local physician can prescribe
Ongoing coordination with your local healthcare team as needed

How the Consultation Process Works

For patients outside our licensed states, here is exactly what to expect from start to finish.

Step 01

Schedule Your Consultation

Book a telehealth appointment directly through our website — no referral required. Let us know your state of residence so we can prepare accordingly.

Step 02

Comprehensive Telehealth Visit

You meet one-on-one with Dr. DeLuzio for a thorough review of your history, symptoms, prior labs, medications, and goals. This is a full clinical consultation — not a brief intake.

Step 03

Formal Consultation Letters Prepared

Following your visit, detailed consultation letters are prepared — one addressed to you and one to your primary care physician. These letters document clinical findings and provide specific, actionable recommendations.

Step 04

Letters Sent to You and Your PCP

Your PCP receives a professional consultation letter outlining recommended labs, imaging, and medications. They can act on these recommendations within their own practice, just as they would with any specialist consultation.

Step 05

Follow-Up Available

As results come in and your care evolves, follow-up consultations are available to review findings, adjust recommendations, and continue guiding your treatment plan in collaboration with your local team.

Canada — Consultative Services Available

Expert Endocrinology Guidance for Canadian Patients

Canadian patients are welcome to engage through the same consultative model available to patients in unlicensed US states. After your telehealth consultation, we prepare formal consultation letters addressed to you and your Canadian physician (GP or specialist), who can then order labs, imaging, and prescribe medications based on our expert recommendations.

These letters outline our clinical findings, recommended laboratory tests, imaging studies, and — where appropriate — specific medication recommendations that your local Canadian physician can act upon. Your physician retains all prescriptive and ordering authority within Canada, but receives the full benefit of board-certified US endocrinology expertise guiding every decision.

No US prescription authority is involved — this is purely expert guidance routed through your local provider. This is the same model used when any specialist is consulted by a local practice, and it ensures that geography never becomes a barrier to exceptional endocrinology care.

What Canadian Patients Receive

Comprehensive telehealth consultation with a board-certified endocrinologist
Formal consultation letters to you and your Canadian physician
Specific laboratory test recommendations for your physician to order
Imaging recommendations as clinically indicated
Medication recommendations your physician can prescribe
Ongoing coordination with your Canadian healthcare team

Same pricing, same quality. Canadian patients pay the same visit fees as US patients: $300 for initial consultations (60 minutes) and $150 for follow-ups (30 minutes). You receive the same level of expert endocrinology evaluation and guidance regardless of geography.

Common Questions About Our Geographic Coverage

Can I still work with you if you are not licensed in my state?

Absolutely. Patients in unlicensed states can engage through our formal consultative services. You will receive a comprehensive telehealth consultation and detailed written recommendations — addressed to both you and your primary care physician — covering labs, imaging, and medications. Your local clinician can then act on those recommendations within their own practice. This is the same model used when any specialist is consulted by a local practice.

What is the difference between full care and a consultation?

In states where we are fully licensed, we can directly order labs and imaging, prescribe medications, and manage your care end-to-end. In states where we are not yet licensed, we provide expert clinical guidance through formal consultation letters — your local physician retains prescriptive and ordering authority, but they receive the full benefit of board-certified endocrinology expertise directing every recommendation.

Do I need a referral to request a consultation?

No referral is needed. You may contact us directly to schedule a consultation regardless of your state. We will coordinate with your local clinician on your behalf and ensure they receive everything they need to implement our recommendations.

Can Canadian patients work with you?

Yes. No US prescription authority is involved — purely expert guidance routed through your local provider.

Why does state licensure matter for telehealth?

Physicians must hold an active license in the state where the patient is physically located at the time of a telehealth visit. This is a federal and state regulatory requirement. Full prescriptive care — including ordering labs, imaging, and medications — requires that license. Consultative services, however, follow a different model and allow us to serve patients in any state.

How many states will you eventually be licensed in?

Our goal is to hold active licenses in 15 to 20 of the most important states over the coming years, with a focus on states with the highest patient demand. We are currently licensed in New Jersey, actively pursuing licensure in Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and Ohio (coming soon), and targeting Florida, Texas, and California within approximately six months.
